Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. Editorial Policy
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively via the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform at the official JIRECS website. Each submission must include:
• the full manuscript in Word format (.docx),
• an abstract in French and English,
• a short biography (maximum 100 words) of each author,
• the contact details of the corresponding author.

2. Peer Review
All articles undergo a double-blind review by at least two independent experts. The possible outcomes are:
• Accepted without changes;
• Accepted with minor revisions;
• Accepted subject to major revisions;
• Rejected.
The editorial board retains the final decision on publication.

3. Writing and formatting guidelines
Articles must be written in a clear, structured and accessible style.
The article must include the following sections:
• Title (in French and English): (it must be engaging, concise and informative)
• Authors’ names and affiliations (the corresponding author must be identified by an asterisk)
• Abstract (150 to 250 words)
• Keywords (5 to 7 maximum)
• Introduction
• Methodology
• Results and discussion
• Conclusion and recommendations
• References

4. Typographical guidelines
The recommended font is Palatino Lino, 10 pt, line spacing 1.15.
Each section of the main text (from the Introduction to the Conclusion) must be numbered in chronological order: 1., 2., etc.
Where there are sub-sections, use the following numbering: 1. (1.1, 1.1.1, etc.); 2. (2.1, 2.1.1, etc.)...
In addition to the sections listed above, authors may include further sections if they deem it necessary.
The nomenclature and units used must comply with those of the International System of Units (SI) (for further details, visit the IUPAC website: https://iupac.org/).
Tables and figures must be inserted into the text and numbered in order of appearance using Arabic numerals: Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. Table 1, Table 2, etc. They must be sufficiently legible. Tables and figures should, as far as possible, be editable and not in image format. Authors must ensure that tables and figures are duly cited in the text.
The corresponding captions must be placed directly above tables or below figures.

5. Citations and references
The citation style used is the APA Style, 7th edition.
All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
Unpublished or forthcoming data should be avoided, unless the article has already been accepted for publication and proof can be provided on request.
References are listed in alphabetical order by the first author’s surname.
Each reference must include the authors, year of publication, title, source (journal, book, website, etc.) and, where possible, the DOI.
The inclusion of the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is strongly recommended for scientific articles, where available.

• In-text citations
Single-author works: (Kouadio, 2022) or Kouadio (2022) shows that...
Two-author works: (Ali & Baba, 2021) or Ali and Baba (2021) point out that...
Three or more authors: (Ali et al., 2020) or according to Ali et al. (2020)...
Multiple references: (Ali et al., 2020; Kouadio, 2022; Wamba & Lishou, 2023)

The list of references appears at the end of the manuscript, under the heading References (without numbering).
Each reference begins with the author, followed by the year (in brackets), then the title (in italics for books or journals), and finally the publication details.
